Yvette’s Dance Academy was founded in Fayetteville, NC, in August 2009. Driven by a passion for making high-quality dance education accessible to everyone, Mrs. Yvette began offering dance and tumbling classes at various recreation centers and schools across the community. Her goal was clear, to offer quality dance instruction at an affordable price, ensuring that more families could experience the joy and discipline of dance.
In 2016, YDA opened it’s first studio, creating a dedicated space where students could learn, grow, and thrive. Since then, YDA has become a home for minority dancers, providing opportunities to train in diverse dance styles while building connections with experienced instructors who bring a wide array of cheer and dance expertise.
At Yvette’s Dance Academy, we believe that dance is about more than just technique—it’s about building character. Over the years, YDA has proudly established itself as a nurturing space where students can explore their potential, celebrate their culture, and grow into confident individuals ready to make a difference in their communities. Our purpose is to create not only great dancers but also great people, instilling self-confidence, discipline, and a sense of community in every student, empowering them to become leaders both on and off the dance floor.
Yvette Brewington is the proud owner of Yvette's Dance Academy (YDA), located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. With over 30 years of dance experience and 20 years of teaching, Mrs. Yvette brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her students. She holds a B.A. in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is highly skilled in a wide range of dance styles, including Pointe, Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, African, and Contemporary dance. In addition to running YDA, in addition to her work with Yvette's Dance Academy, Mrs. Yvette serves as the dance teacher at E.E. Smith High School and works as a choreographer for various organizations throughout Fayetteville, NC.
Mrs. Yvette’s mission is simple yet powerful: to provide exceptional dance education while inspiring a lifelong love and appreciation for dance in every student who walks through her doors. Her dedication to fostering both artistic and personal growth has made YDA a cornerstone in the Fayetteville community.
